Meredith Ross

Meredith Ross is a geophysicist with 13 years experience in the acquisition and processing of seismic surveys.

Professional Experience

Meredith joined Excel at its inception in October 2006 and is the operations manager. She has overseen the set up of the Excel hardware system, initiated and developed relationships with potential clients and is responsible for tendering for processing contracts. Meredith has worked on land and marine projects in the last 5 years including shallow, high resolution surveys. She has experience with a variety of energy sources associated with acquisition of land data: vibroseis, dynamite, mini-sosie and weight-drops. Meredith is currently processing vintage marine data from several different surveys.

From 1990 to 1995, Ms Ross was employed by Western Geophysical in their London office as a seismic processing analyst. Initially working on 2D land data, Meredith spent 3 years working on 3D marine projects including a 3D transition-zone project. Some of these projects were as a team member and others were as the sole processor. Duties and responsibilities included general processing, project planning, processing design, parameter testing, QC and client liaison. Seismic surveys were located in Europe, North Africa, eastern Europe and the Middle East .

On returning to New Zealand in 1995, Ms Ross has been employed with Ian R. Brown Associates as a geophysicist and joined GNS Science as the commercial processing manager from 1998 to 2000. This position included supervising land and marine 2D contracts and managing other processing personnel in addition to seismic analysis. Since 2003, Ms Ross has worked on several short term contract with GNS Science processing marine data.
