Anne Melhuish

Anne Melhuish is a geophysicist with 20 years experience in the areas of acquisition and data processing of seismic surveys.

Professional Experience

Anne joined Excel in July 2007 and has since gained expertise and experience using ProMAX software to process seismic data from New Zealand and other countries. Anne has developed expertise in marine processing and has been involved in a number of 2D marine reprocessing contracts. Her experience in field QC and acquisition is invaluable when processing lines that have no observers logs and many of her projects are of vintage land data. Anne is experienced with a variety of energy sources including vibroseis, dynamite, mini-sosie and weight-drops. Current work includes reprocessing vintage land data from Egypt.

From 1990 to 1998, Ms Melhuish was employed as a geophysicist with the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences Ltd in New Zealand. Anne was involved in research projects using seismic reflection and refraction data as well as 2D seismic reflection processing for oil and gas exploration clients.

In late 1998 Anne started a position with Veritas DGC (Ltd), and spent 9 years working predominantly on land-based seismic crews performing field processing and acquisition QC. In this role Anne worked in many countries including Oman, Qatar, Gabon, Libya, USA and Kazakhstan. Her experience as a Field QC Seismologist includes 2D and 3D land data (vibroseis and dynamite), and also 3D shallow marine (Ocean bottom cable) surveys.

Anne spent a year as Operations Geophysicist for Veritas DGC based in Muscat, Oman, during which she provided technical support to the field crews, as well as training and development of the QC personnel. Anne’s interest in programming and acquisition led her and a colleague to develop a GIS program tailored to Veritas’ Oman operations, for which they were presented the Veritas Technical Excellence award in the year 2000.
